Each year we leave a few spots open for fresh faces and virgin burners who are a good fit for our camp. Complete Our Camp Application if you're interested in what we do!
We’re all about maintaining a comfortable camp without breaking the bank. With 40-50 awesome humans joining us each year, we think we’ve nailed the sweet spot. Big enough to party, small enough to actually know everyone’s name.
We update the passport each year and build a unique playa-wide puzzle and always need help with graphic design. If you have experience with that or just have some good ideas for the camp, please let us know!

ApplyCamp Amenities
So you want to camp with the Black Rock City Passport Office but you want to know what's in it for you? The largest chunk of camp dues goes towards designing and printing the passports. Our goal is always to keep dues affordable while still providing a great experience for our campers.
Shaded Tent and Communal Space
It's hot out there, but we've got you covered! Our camp offers plenty of shaded areas for tent campers, along with a communal space where you can enjoy meals and relax in comfort.
Drinking Water
Water. The building block of all there is. And we have a big ol cube of it to use for drinking, cooking and washing your hands.
Camp Kitchen
We come equipped with a basic kitchen, two 2-burner stoves, propane, some pots, some pans, and dishwashing station. Everything you need to show off your ramen cooking skills.
2 Camp Meals
We hold 2 camp meals so the camp members come together and enjoy a hot, freshly prepared meal. The meals offer a chance to connect, share experience, and recharge. Meals are lead by members who volunteer their time and we love them for that.
Private Portapotty
This shit is serious. No more late night runs to a questionable porto or battling long lines only to find you're out of TP. Our porta is private, decorated and well lit. So light it up!
Showers
A small luxury, but a welcome one. We have a private camp shower to keep you clean and dust free (for a few minutes at least). Showers are offered at a small per shower fee to pay for the additional gray water removal.
Waste Management
We’re on a mission to keep it green and clean! Composting? Check. Recycling? Double check. Join us in making your burn less trashy and more classy while plugging into the Black Rock Community.
Wifi
Our offering uses wifi to function and, luckily for the campers, that means we can stay connected.
Note: communal areas are strict "No Phone Zones" and we encourage campers use wifi only for emergencies and keep their device usage to their tent or RV.Charging Station
Our camp runs on solar to power our lights and passport photo printers. That also means we have plenty of capacity to charge your small devices like phones, lights, and battery packs.
Camper Requirements
We expect Passport Officers to exhibit some actions and things
Camp Calls
This camp is only possible because of the hard work that happens on and off the playa. We expect members to participate in planning, join camp calls, and stay in the loop.
Camp Shifts
Each camp member is expected to work two 3.5 hour shifts during the week. Shifts include greeting visitors, dispensing passports, tending bar and keeping the Passport Office running.
Camp Strike
All members MUST assist with striking camp which includes taking down frontage, taking down camp shade and MOOPing the area. Strike occurs on Saturday afternoon before the Man burns.
Camp Dues
Dues help pay for our offering and make improvements to the camp infrastructure. We're very interested in keeping dues affordable and are committed to transparency in how its spent. Due are expected to be $400 to $450.
