Support Us

Our gift to the community is printing BRC Passports which invite visitors to find new connections on playa. To achieve that, we coordinatie with various camps so they will have stamps to mark the passports when people come to visit. We hope the passports can serve as a tool to explore new places on the playa as well as provide a memento of a fantastic week in the dust.

How to Participate

  • 01

    Sign Up Using the Form

Provide your camp name, location, and some supporting details. Also select if you'd like to participate in the Kid's or Challenge Puzzles we create for this year's passports.

  • 02

    Create a Unique Stamp

Stamps can be as big or as small as you'd like, with most camps aiming for a 1.5 to 2 inch stamp size. They can be square, rectangular, circular, small, large, comically large, whatever! Make it your own!

  • 03

    Pickup Your Sign

Swing by the Passport Office and pick up your Sign that tells folks you're a Participating Camp. Hang it somewhere visible and let your camp mates know what to expect.

  • 04

    Start Stamping!

Roll up those sleeves, flex those muscles, and leave your mark - literally! It’s time to stamp some passports and explore!

Frequently Asked Questions

Ok all that sounds great but you probably have some questions. We’ve tried to answer the most common ones below, but if you have any others, please reach out to us and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

  • A 1.5" self inking stamp works best!

The available stamping area is about 3.5" x 3.5" so a 1.5" round or square stamp allows 4 stamps to a page and is typical of what you'd see in a real passport. Camps can go larger or wider, but some visitors collect 70+ stamps so we encourage sticking to 1.5".

We suggest using self inking stamps because they're self contained and easy to manage. Standard rubber stamps require ink pads and tend to bleed through pages. If you go that route, we recommend a less dense stamp design to limit the bleed effect.

  • The Passport Office uses these self inking stamps from Simply Stamps. They have options for round, square and rectangular stamps of various sizes. Alternately, you can also make your own or search for a different store that does "custom logo [self inking] or [rubber] stamps" - there are a lot of options!

  • We do not provide supplies or stamps, however we do print out signs that you can hang in your camp to let visitors know you're a Destination Camp. You can pick those up from the Passport Office on playa starting on Sunday.

  • We print a directory of all participating camps in the Passport with camp names and cross streets. We'll request that information from you when you fill out the Destination Camp form.

  • Every year we print a puzzle in the book that encourages visitors to dig a little deeper. Participation could include hosting a component of the puzzle at your camp or being part of a puzzle solution. Participating in the challenge puzzle starts with checking the box on the Destination camp form and we'll discuss just HOW involved you'd like to be when we respond.

  • YES! The passport is about encouraging people to interact with the city and its inhabitants. You can, for example, require folks to participate in your camps activity or hang out a bit before giving them a stamp if you'd like... obviously within reason.
